In Memory of the ones we could not save....
About Hope Animal Rescues

Our rescue started out as being two people deeply affected by the aftermath of hurricane Katrina
and the suffering of the animals.  November 15th, 2005 a group of pets arrived in Alton Illinois,
some from the hurricane others from animal control facilities that use the gas chamber  to
euthenize.  Working with those animals and seeing the "hope" in their eyes and the spirit of their
souls drove us to continue our work today.  We are a RESCUE and we physically go pull animals
on their last day of life at animal control so that they may find a true second chance within our
adoption program.  Today we are a non-profit corporation and our mission is one of compassion
for the homeless, rehabilitation for the physically and mentally abused.  Our goals are to promote
spay/neuter, stop the use of gas chambers to kill our homeless pets, and to educate people on how
to treat all animals with respect and dignity. Dogs, and Cats were domesticated by people for
companionship, and to work beside us in our everyday life.  We are responsible for their well being
for they are completely dependent upon us and no longer able to survive on their own.
Dogs and Cats feel pain, suffer depression, and want to live just as humans do.  However, everyday
in this country, every 7 seconds somewhere there is a loving, hopeful pet whose life is ending just
because they have no home.   Be a part of the solution and not the problem, SPAY and NEUTER
your pet!
Help Hope Rescues continue their work by doing one of two things to make a difference.
If you cannot adopt please make a donation. If you are looking to adopt know that if you adopt from
Hope you will be saving the lives of two pets.  The one that you take home with you, and the one that
your adoption makes room for.
If you know of someone who cannot afford to spay or neuter their pet please call or write us for
assistance.
There are programs to assist available and we will be glad to help stop the cycle.
From all the happy pets who have found homes today because of your support
THANK YOU!

   Adopting a Friend...

To be approved for adopting one of our pets you must be open to Hope Rescues doing a home visit.
Check up calls also are needed. You must own your home for we cannot adopt to renters unless you
provide proof that you are allowed pets and you have no intentions of moving to a complex which does not
allow them in the future.

You must have a fenced yard for a medium to large dog. No chains, or tie downs are allowed. For a small
dog a condo or home is accepted. You must provide a vet reference and know that we will call. All our
pets must be spayed or neutered. If you adopt a puppy, at six months you must send us proof that the pet
has been altered or surrender the pet back to Hope Rescue.

Any applicant caught providing false information to us will be denied with no mediation provided nor
allowed.

WE do not discriminate against anyone during the adoption process. Your age, sex, sexual
orientation, religion, etc. cannot prevent you from adopting. All procedures are followed in the same
manner for all applicants. We LOVE good people with good homes for our pets, and would love to find the
right home for ALL our pets.

If you have another pet at home we encourage you to bring that pet in for a meet and greet with the
selected pet. Your pet may chose a different friend than you so please be aware and receptive to that.
